Frequently Asked Questions about Cozy Mini Storage Facility

Welcome to the Cozy Mini Storage FAQ section. Here we have tried to answer most of the common questions that our customers have regarding our storage facility’s security, access hours, payments and more. If your question hasn't been covered here, please feel free to contact us , and we will get back to you soon.

What Kind of ID Should I Carry for Renting a Storage Space?

You will need two pieces of identification:
1) Any government-issued ID with a picture on it (passport, driver’s licence, etc.).
2) Any ID with your name on it.

What Is the Minimum Rental Period?

You need to rent for a minimum of four weeks.

What Are My Access Hours?

We provide access to all our spaces from 8:00 AM to 9:00 PM.

What Is the Notice Period?

The notice must be given before your payment due date to prorate the account out to the day of your move-out. We calculate any other charges to be paid by you and prorate out in a single go.

Do You Offer Insurance, and Do I Need to Be Covered?

We do not offer insurance.

Do You Store All Types of Vehicles?

We can store cars, boats, rideable lawnmowers, ATVs, motorcycles, scooters and E-bikes. You can come down to the facility and the unit to see the space and make sure your vehicle fits. Also, if you’re looking forward to keeping your vehicle in our storage unit, you must provide proof of ownership, and the party signing the lease must be the owner of the vehicle. You must also drain the gas from the vehicle to avoid leakage in the units. Your vehicle needs to be insured, as we do not offer any coverage on vehicles.

Do You Accept Courier Deliveries for My Unit or Mailbox?

We do not accept courier deliveries.

What Type of Payments Do You Accept?

We accept cash, cheque, money order, and e-transfer.

Do You Have an Administration Fee?

No, we do not have any administration fee.

Will I Get an Invoice?

Yes. You will need to provide us with an email address, and we’ll be happy to email you an invoice before your due date or whenever you want.

Do You Ask for a Security Deposit for Renting Storage Units or Mailboxes?

No, we do not ask for a security deposit.

Do You Give Refunds?

Whenever you plan to move out of your unit, let our office staff know before your next billing cycle begins. We can prorate your rent to the day you plan to move out. Also, after your rent cycle begins, you will not be eligible for a refund. Prorated payments must be made at the time of notification.

What Kind of Promotions Do You Offer?

We don’t offer promotions.

How Do I Find About Auctions?

We don’t do auctions.

Is the Facility Climate-Controlled?

Yes, our facility is completely climate-controlled to store your temperature-sensitive items.

What Items Are Not Allowed in the Storage Unit?

We do not store hazardous waste, illegal substances, combustibles, explosives or food items in our facility. If you have a questionable item to store, please check with the site manager before proceeding.

How High Are Unit Ceilings?

The height varies by site, but our ceilings have a maximum height of 10’.

How Wide Are Unit Doors?

The width of our unit doors ranges from 3' to approximately 9' wide, depending on its size.

How Does Proration Work?

Before your payment due date, we notify the site office of the date you’ll vacate. They will prorate the account at once to your move-out day. If you have any other charges to be paid on your account, you’ll have to pay those along with the prorated payment at the time of the notification.

What Tips Can You Provide for Storage?

Here are a few quick tips that can help you store and access your goods conveniently:

  • Cover up your mattresses and sofa with a plastic cover to protect them from dust.

  • Put clothes safely in plastic containers or secure boxes.

  • Use the 10’ height of our ceilings to your advantage and store accordingly.

  • Try to make the couch stand on its end to free up more space for other belongings.

  • If you are using a storage facility for the first time, visit our site, and we’ll guide you.

What Kind of Security and Safety Measures Do You Follow?

We check the entire facility multiple times every day to ensure all the units are safe and properly locked. We also have fire extinguishers in our facility to ensure protection against fire hazards.
